Lindsay White elected councillor for Sorell district.

Lindsay has been elected local councillor for the Sorell district.

Personally, he would like to thank you for your support and vote of confidence. 

Below is a background on Lindsay,  plus what he aims to do during his term. 

Lindsay White is running for Sorell local council.COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

 

  • I have represented Sorell in football, cricket, badminton and tennis and have lived in the district my entire life.
  • I want to see Pembroke Park developed as a multi-purpose venue for all the community
  • I want to see extended bike and walking tracks around Sorell and Midway Point
  • I will promote community events – music and food festivals, fun runs and will support cultural events

 

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

 

  • I am a member of the Sorell Business Council
  • I want to see a responsive Council that can make it eas- ier for businesses to come to the district
  • I will encourage people to set up and run business that employ local people and build local wealth

 

PROMOTION OF THE REGION

 

  • I want to see an improved Visitors Information Centre and to see tourism numbers swell in the Sorell district I will fight to make sure that Sorell gets its fair share of major project funding.
  • I support the implementation of the South East irrigation scheme to ensure food security and to promote primary production in the District
